A Casper story

Raised here. Trained for the hardest cases. Came home.

Dr. Youmans was raised in Casper and graduated from Natrona County High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science at the University of Wyoming in Laramie and his DDS at Creighton University in Omaha. He then spent 1 year in a general practice residency at the Omaha VA hospital, with special emphasis in oral and maxillofacial surgery and trauma.

He moved back to Casper with his wife Melissa in 1998 and started Aspen Ridge Dental. In 2025 he opened Legacy Institute, a new facility in Casper built around implant and restorative care for Wyoming patients.

His special interests center on implantology and the oral surgery side of dentistry. He both places and restores implants, where most cases pass between a surgeon and a separate restoring dentist, and he regularly operates out of Casper Surgical Center and Wyoming Medical Center, including hospital-based care for special-needs patients.

Board certification in implant dentistry

A Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology.

The American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry awards Diplomate status only after an intensive examination process demonstrating skill, judgment, and depth in implant dentistry. Dr. Youmans earned Diplomate status through that process. Dental implants are designed to provide long-term tooth replacement and can last for decades with appropriate care.
